Thai Home Retailer is Sorry for Years of ‘Hard Sell’ Advertising

BBDO Bangkok campaign for home improvement retailer HomePro apologises for years of advertising encouraging people to head to its stores, writes Alex Reeves
BBDO Bangkok’s new ad campaign for HomePro features an employee apologising to customers for the Thai home improvement retail brand’s previous advertising.

“Our advertising in the past was maybe too exaggerated, too hard sell,” he says, going on to explain that HomePro just wanted to encourage customers to head to its stores. But that sort of advertising is no longer necessary because the retailer is offering consumers the ability to order any product on their app, to be collected from a store of their choosing at their convenience. 

The playful spot was directed by Joey Araya via Bangkok-based production company Porjai Film and will run across multiple channels.
