TEDxMelbourne, one of the local chapters of global thought leader TED, has partnered with Cummins&Partners to launch its first major event in their tenth anniversary year – Limitless. Featuring a range of high profile speakers, Limitless explores the question ‘what’s on the other side of impossible’ for humankind, as we combine creativity, collaboration, and ever-evolving technology.
To help launch the event, Cummins&Partners has created the short film ‘Life Assist,’ inspired by the themes of Limitless. ‘Life Assist’ was produced completely in house using C&P’s internal directors, producers, and creatives.
Says Cummins&Partners creative director Luke Wallis: “Already we can see that a side effect of rapidly improving technology is social awkwardness – we DM, sext, message, Facetime, but don’t actually talk. Staring at the three dots of an incoming text message is anxiety-inducing. We wanted to take this idea to its logical conclusion, and use it to ask more questions.”
Says Jon Yeo, licensee and curator, TEDxMelbourne: “Limitless explores how we understand ourselves and the world we live in. The future is both uncertain and exciting. We are delighted to have Cummins&Partners work with us to explore this journey. They understand and appreciate the values and attention to detail required to bring an event like this together.”
“We were honoured to work with a group that has helped revolutionise content and thought leadership across the globe,” adds Wallis. “TEDxMelbourne’s ‘Limitless’ is closely aligned to C&P’s philosophy of what can be achieved creativity, imagination and innovation.”
TEDxMelbourne ‘Limitless’ is on June 5 at the Melbourne Convention Centre, with tickets available here.
