Tech and Typography: Why Font Still Matters

The first in a series of creative talks hosted by Feed discusses creative values in a digital world: March 8th

Typography is commonly one of the only non-negotiables in a brand’s guidelines. A brand’s font stands as an independent interface between the consumer and the provider of information, it must reflect not only their values but be consistent across every marketing platform, both traditional and digital. Optimised typography has never been so important.

Brands strive for typography that is human yet digital, creative yet assertive, objective and confident yet subjectively personable. Positioning and aesthetics, particularly around typeface and logo design, has ensured font has never been so fundamental in digital design.

Feed is hosting the first of a series of creative talks for 2018 that will explore these issues. 

On Thursday 8th March at their Shoreditch HQ, Feed welcomes Colophon, the international award-winning typography foundry, who will be joining Feed’s new CCO Steven Bennett-Day, to discuss the future of the font and how to accommodate both aesthetics and technology in typography.
