Evan joins the post house after almost a decade at Charlie Uniform Tango

Post production studio TBD Post has today announced the appointment of Evan Linton as editor. The new hire reflects the studio’s impressive growth and success in recent years and signals further expansion, following the appointment of Ron Rendon as executive producer earlier this year.

Evan’s first role in the industry was as an assistant editor at TBWA\Chiat\Day LA in their internal post house, Venice Beach Editorial. Thrown straight into the deep end, Evan learnt the ins-and-outs of agency life and what it takes to be successful in the edit room, already tasked with high-profile projects such as VISA’s 2012 Olympic campaign. An intense project, the gold-washed spots voiced by Morgan Freeman were cut in real time using actual event footage, and immediately finished to go on air after the event medals were given.

Following this, Evan spent almost a decade at Charlie Uniform Tango, crafting campaigns for brands including Jeep, Bud Light, and Southwest Airlines. Notable projects Evan lent his talents to include pet food brand Crave’s ‘Hunters’ ad, featuring sleek, close-up shots of the preened predators, The Food Lion’s regional Super Bowl commercial ‘This Is Our’, as well as Dodge’s ‘Power Dollars’, for which cutting, colour, sound design, and delivery were all handled on set in a single afternoon.

In his new role as editor at TBD Post, Evan particularly looks forward to exploring the world of longform content once more. With the studio handling an impressive range of both long and short form projects, Evan has the opportunity to work again in the medium that originally got him hooked on storytelling.

Evan Linton comments: “What was immediately appealing about TBD Post was their commitment to finding new ways of bringing success to their clients. The pandemic changed a lot about our industry and those changes are here to stay. Workflows, sessions, expectations, and relationships are all different post-pandemic. Rather than shying away, TBD Post sees these changes as opportunities to lead the way and set new standards for how this industry operates.”

Ron Rendon, executive producer at TBD Post, comments: “Evan not only has a wonderful reel, but his work ethic and personality also fit the culture we have at TBD Post, which is the best talent with long term client relationships along with respectful teamwork to fully deliver the best product.”

Karen Jacobs, managing director at TBD Post, adds: “Evan will help us reach clients beyond Austin and new agencies that haven’t experienced TBD Post. He’ll have the support of our production team, colourists, finishing team and audio expertise for turnkey delivery.”
