To celebrate the launch of the 2014 Color of the Year, Pantone worked with NY-based experience design and innovation firm, Sub Rosa, for the photo shoot and campaign for PANTONE® 18-3224 Radiant Orchid, a captivating, magical, enigmatic purple.
For more than a decade, Pantone’s Color of the Year has influenced product development and purchasing decisions in multiple industries, including fashion, home and industrial design, as well as product packaging and graphic design. 2014’s color, Radiant Orchid, encourages expanded creativity and originality, which is increasingly valued in today’s society.
Sub Rosa’s strategy for the brand ultimately drove a campaign creative direction that brought to life a playful, dynamic series of images that celebrate the Color of the Year uniquely. The work was managed and produced by Sub Rosa and the images created showcase items from holidays or events for each month throughout the year, highlighting the diverse appeal of the Radiant Orchid color and its applicability throughout every season. Sub Rosa also created a variety of images including ones with the Radiant Orchid name spelled out, and ones that include the Pantone logo and color standards.
