Stink Film has crafted the latest music video ‘Breathe’ for American rapper / singer-songwriter, Yeat. Directed by Felix Brady, the project is a creative collaboration between a whole host of VFX and technical artists, crowdsourced almost exclusively via social media.
When Felix Brady pitched the idea of making this music video to Yeat’s management, he had less than three days to pull things together on a challenging budget. Determined to make a visual feast rich with VFX, he wrote and treated an idea featuring Yeat’s alter ego in a dystopian universe taken over by AI.
To bring Felix’s idea to life, extensive post and visual effects were needed - a challenge to realise with the time and funds available. However, a beautiful story of community effort and collaboration emerged. Dozens of independent artists and small boutique houses who saw an opportunity answered his call, splitting the project into small, digestible elements that could be later woven together in the edit process. ‘Breathe’ was then crafted in record time by a collective of more than 20 VFX specialists operating simultaneously on a granular scale.
