You're not you when you're hungry is up high on the league table of brilliant brand ideas that keep on giving across the globe, and BBDO Dublin have spun a very Irish take - a series of posters paying their respects to some very important Irish locations and rivalries.
Snickers fired the first shot by trolling some of Ireland's best known sporting rivalries and placed 48 sheets supporting their fiercest rivals at their own home sporting grounds. Outdoor ads supporting soccer team Dundalk F.C showed up at the hallowed sporting grounds of Turners Cross, home to their fierce rival, Cork F.C. Meanwhile back in Dublin's Tolka Park, Shelbourne F.C had to cope with support for their rivals Bohemian F.C right outside their own entrance. The campaign has sent locals in their droves to social media to query the mistakes.
And the trolling continued with some very specific village rivalry as the team at BBDO Dublin targeted rival suburbs of Dublin with ads lamenting the greatness of their closest neighbours.
A nice example of how a local agency can take their own insights and humour and implement a hugely successful global campaign with great results.
