Slim, the production company based in Venice, CA, has announced that Belgian director Bram Coppens has joined their roster. He will be represented by Slim for commercials and branded content in the US.
Bram made his mark with celebrated campaigns for Adidas, including “Brazuca”, which introduced the new ball for the FIFA World Cup and won Silver and Bronze Clios, as well as “Golf Anthem". He also directed a Super Bowl campaign for Jeep (featuring the spot “Love Story”) and commercials for Range Rover and Dockers. Coppens is a graduate of the Brussels Film Academy and continued his studies at the New York Film Academy and the Academy of Fine Arts in Utrecht in the Netherlands. He has lived in Los Angeles since 2011.
Tom Weissferdt, Owner/EP is thrilled about Bram’s arrival at Slim. “Bram and I have known each other for a while, so it is a truly incredible opportunity to work together at this point in time. I have always admired his powerful visual style with cars and sports and I’m sure he will venture into more dialogue-based work in the future.” Bram is ecstatic at the reunion: "I'm very excited to join the roster at Slim. I think their work is very strong and speaks for itself. I like their ethos of keeping the roster small in order to keep a thorough focus on each director. I have known Tom for a long time, so I’m elated that it’s finally time for us to collaborate. I’m positive that we are going to create beautiful work together."
Slim’s directors have made some interesting moves in recent months, including
Vincent Urban who directed the award-winning #lifechangingplaces campaign for Lufthansa and
ZCDC (Zack Canepari and Drea Cooper) directed “Flint Town”, a series for Netflix, about the police department in Flint, Michigan that aired in March 2018 to much acclaim.
