Marketing agency Fortnight Collective has created four ads for client Noodles & Company to launch the fast casual dining chain’s first baked pasta dish, Chicken Parmesan. A few of the videos feature ditties that sing the dish’s praises. Fortnight is Noodles’ AOR.
In 'ParmaSong,' singer-songwriter Matt Farley croons his love for the new menu item in freeform ballads enhanced by piano accompaniment and amateurish lyrics. 'Chicken Parmesan / You’ve got it goin’ on,' he sings sincerely in one version. “Just the chicken and the sauce and the cheese and it tastes so great.” In another, he simply declares, “I love Chicken Parmesan” a couple of times before breaking into a chorus of “Chicken, chicken, chicken, chicken, chicken…” Both ads feature up-close-and-personal shots of the food.
Farley is a Danvers, Massachusetts-based musician and filmmaker who bills himself as the most prolific songwriters of all time. He’s released more than 24,000 songs since July 2023 under a variety of band names, including The Toilet Bowl Cleaners, The Very Nice Interesting Singer Man, and Papa Razzi and The Photogs. He has appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. Farley's film work has been chronicled in the book of interviews Motern on Motern: Conversations with Matt Farley and Charles Roxburgh by Will Sloan and Justin Decloux.
“We were looking for an uncommonly good element to the campaign and ladder up to the brand. Being a huge fan of Matt Farley, we knew his talents fit the bill. In fact, Parmasong is still stuck in our heads.”
In 'ParmAmazing,' a narrator describes the dish as 'Chicken ParmaSaucy, Chicken ParmaCrispy, and Chicken ParmaCheesy' as the camera moves around the bowl to catch it from all angles. The national campaign will run on CTV and OLV along with social (Meta) and digital media and in-stores.
Chicken Parmesan will roll out to the public on September 20th, but it’s already being served to Noodles’ Rewards members.
