Simon Cooper Joins Born Social as Ford Europe Creative Director

That Lot and BBC creative joins agency to drive creativity on car account

Born Social, the full-service social agency, has hired Simon Cooper as creative director. He joins from creative social agency, That Lot, which is part of the Weber Shandwick group. He reports into chief creative officer, Paddy Smith, and together they will lead the creative output across Ford Europe. 

Simon previously led the social creative on brands including Adobe, Spotify, HSBC and Channel 4. He has worked across numerous campaigns including Spotify Wrapped and the world’s first Snapchat drama for Channel 4. Prior to That Lot, he worked at BBC Radio 1 and Dave (UKTV). Simon has pioneered the use of social media for over 15 years, developing tone of voice, creator content and campaigns that stretch beyond social. He was the original “voice of witty banter” for Dave online. 

Born Social won the Ford Europe account in mid-2023 from WPP. The appointment came with the brief to transform the automotive manufacturer into a social-first brand, capable of swift and culturally relevant responses which engage a wider audience throughout the region.
