Evan Bernard, the only director at P for Production to be name checked in Beastie Boys lyrics (Get It Together), has made a fresh satirical film about the advertising industry. Signified Signifier shows the development of a deodorant advert from its moment of conception to its absorption by the viewer. Avoiding the usual clichéd cynicism that accompanies 99% of advertising satires, we join the journey of the campaign from charged up board room to a slob’s living room.
