Auerbach joins roster as Director

Little Fish Films has announced that Shona Auerbach is joining their pool of talent.

BAFTA nominated for her feature Dear Frankie and fresh off the set of her latest triumph Rudy, Auerbach is now back for business.

Shona has a true gift to capture beautifully observed, intimate and humane performances.  Her success is down to a combination of directorial sensitivity with her actors, outstanding casting, creative art direction and an artistic visual eye, make for utterly charming and award winning films

She began her career as a stills photographer, gaining a degree in film at Manchester and cinematography at Leeds before completing her Master of Arts at the Polish National Film School in Lodz.  Seven her first directorial short won Best British Short Film and Best Student at the British Short Film Festival, as well as a winning at Molodist, Munich, and Montecatini in Italy.  

She spent the next 7 years directing prestigious commercials for clients such as MasterCard, NSPCC, Domestos, and Nescafe whilst preparing for her feature Dear Frankie, starring Emily Mortimer and Gerard Butler. The film, backed by Pathe and then picked up by Harvey Weinstein, Miramax, inspired a 10 minute standing ovation at Cannes Film Festival. Her second feature Rudy is in post production and will be released at a later date.

Shona was nominated for BAFTA Best Newcomer and also BAFTA Scotland Award for Best Director. She won the Heartland Film Festival Crystal Heart Award, the High Falls Film Festival Audience Award for Best Feature Film, The Jackson Hole Film Cowboy Award for Best Feature Film, the Los Angeles IFP/West Film Festival Audience Award for Best International Feature Film, The Montreal Word Film Festival Golden Zenith Award, the Seattle International Film Festival Women in Cinema Lena Sharpe Award, and the WinFemme Film Festival Award for Best Film or TV Show Directed by a Woman.
