The School of Communication Arts 2.0 (SCA), the most awarded advertising school in the world, have announced details of their ‘Selling Creativity’ initiative which exists to raise funds from a series of short courses to fuel diversity in the creative industry. Twenty percent of all sales will go to Brixton Finishing School, with all further profits made feeding into SCA’s scholarship programme.
SCA Dean, Marc Lewis and his multi-award winning faculty have curated their courses leaning on learnings and insights from 12 years of student, alumni and partner feedback, and feature valuable and actionable techniques and frameworks that can be applied to agency teams of all sizes, across all disciplines and levels.
The short courses on offer cover everything from psychological well being, to creative brief writing and leadership training, and are perfect for interns, junior teams, mid-weight creatives and those in leadership roles who want to upskill and enhance their careers.
Well-known advertising names feature in the short courses series, with appearances from: global ECD and creative partner of Havas London, Elliot Harris; ex-ECD of Ogilvy & Mather, Patrick Collister; poet and SCA copywriter mentor, Deanna Rodgers; creative 'Strategist to the Strategists' Uri Baruchin; creative director Pete Cain and many more!
SCA Dean, Marc Lewis said, “Creativity has never been more important, across all industries. We need to be able to have great ideas, spot problems and opportunities and turn them into wins. That requires creative thinking and the correct guidance, mentoring and support to get there. Whether you’re a top ECD or just starting out, we all have more to learn.
Over the past 12 years, I’ve seen hundreds of students come through our school. Some are now top ECDs but some have left the industry due to burnout, bad leadership and lack of development opportunities. We’ve developed our courses in response to this feedback. Therefore if you want to encourage, inspire and retain the very best talent - get in touch, buy our courses and provide key training for your teams as well as helping us to change lives along the way”
Headquartered in Brixton, the SCA is known for its vast collection of prestigious advertising awards, including multiple D&AD Pencils, winning the coveted black pencil for five consecutive years and in the last awards season alone – 12 of the 20 awarded TTB Cream Awards.
Offering in-person or online teaching, the SCA boasts an impressive success rate, with 80 per cent of its students landing their dream creative role within six months of completing the School’s 10 month portfolio course.
