Santa Gets His Skates On
Creative studio Neon has put a skate-tastic spin on the traditional Christmas card in 'Macro: A Neon Christmas'.
"For our Winter R&D project, we wanted to make a skate film. Our goal was to create a series of impossible yet photo-real shots, putting us right in the middle of the action," said Neon. "The real trick was developing a process that would allow us to create these shots with a small team of artists (instead of the usual small army)."
The film was originally intended for friends and colleagues of the London-based creative studio, but the video was swiftly promoted by Vimeo as a 'staff pick' less than 48 hours after it was first uploaded, and Neon have found themselves with a much larger audience than originally anticipated.
By the end of the week the film was embedded on over 200 websites and has been viewed over 100,000 times.
Described as "the mother of all slowmo skate videos" by one twitter fan, the film was developed over 2 months by Neon's in-house team of creatives and artists. Neon, founded in 2010, is a boutique creative studio based in Covent Garden, London which operates a range of production services for commercials, animation, film and print.
