Samsung, Skateboard GB and EE Unite to Power More Skate Time Across the UK

Event from Iris will be a day-and-night tribute to all elements of skateboarding culture

Samsung announces the next iteration of its longstanding partnership with Skateboard GB, the governing body for skateboarding in Great Britain, revealing an expansion of its support for British skateboarding. Joining forces with EE, the UK’s number one network provider, the tech leaders will invest in initiatives to help improve the accessibility of skateboarding across the UK.

Driven by the shared belief to ‘Never Stop Growing,’ Samsung, Skateboard GB and EE are investing in extended opening hours at ten skateparks across the UK. This initiative, which includes funding for events, product experiences, and skate jams, will empower the personal growth of the next generation of skaters with greater park access, enhanced connectivity, and the tools to capture and share their progress.

To celebrate the launch of these initiatives, Samsung and EE are launching the ‘Drop in with Samsung 25-Hour Skatepark,’ supported by EE at London's BAYSIXTY6 on the 19th and 20th March. This immersive event, inspired by the Galaxy S25 Ultra, will be a day-and-night tribute to all elements of skateboarding culture, from music performances, to pro skating talent demos, to hands-on content creation. Attendees will experience first hand how the Galaxy S25 Ultra's advanced features, like Nightography and Ultra Wide mode, can capture stunning visuals in any lighting.

“Off the back of the incredible work we’ve done with Skateboard GB, we are incredibly excited to deepen our commitment to creating skateboarding opportunities for young people in the UK by welcoming EE to this journey,” said Annika Bizon, VP of product and marketing, mobile experience (MX), UK & Ireland.

“Unlike traditional sports pathways where talent is often identified through schools or sports clubs, skateboarding talent seen on the Olympic stage has often emerged through less traditional pathways, like social media. This reflects the unique nature of the sport, where skaters showcase their skills and creativity online.

“Alongside our mobile technology, EE’s support will significantly amplify our efforts to support this next generation of skating talent to stay connected, feel inspired and ‘Never Stop Growing.’”

This recent activity builds on the foundation laid by Samsung’s support, which includes funding for coaching opportunities, elite athlete development, and maintaining facilities.

“We are delighted to see this partnership expand with the inclusion of EE. This collaboration strengthens our ability to ‘Skate More, Skate Better’ and provides even greater support for skaters at all levels,” says James Hope-Gill, CEO at Skateboard GB.

“Crucially, we recognise that currently, opportunities to skate may be limited by skate park accessibility and opening hours. This partnership directly addresses these challenges. By encouraging skate parks to have extended opening hours, enhanced connectivity, and more frequent events, we will make skateboarding significantly more accessible for the next generation.”

Fuelled by the Korean ‘Tu-hon’ spirit – a legacy grit and passion, and a relentless drive to succeed – that inspired the partnership, and building off the success of the Flip Parks in London and Nottingham, the initiative is set to grow bigger and better in 2025. By combining Samsung’s mobile innovation with EE’s connectivity, the initiative will empower young people to discover skateboarding as a path to resilience, creativity, and continuous self-improvement.

As Samsung’s strategic and creative partner in skateboarding, Iris London developed the 25-hour Skatepark and is leading the campaign’s creative execution, event production, and partnership with Skateboard GB.
