Rising Star Thea Hvistendahl Joins Hobby Film
Thea Hvistendahl is one of the Nordics most promising new directors winning numerous awards in her native Norway for her music videos and short films. Most recently her music video ‘Den Islamske Elefanten’ for duo Karpe Diem was nominated for video of the year at ‘Spellemannprisen’, the Norwegian Grammys.
Thea has an eye for the human in combination with the quirky, often resulting in kitchy, absurd, ironic and esthetically interesting films with great characters.
’Thea’s has the ability to tell her story in a wide range of formats: comedy, documentary, music video. Her strong skills as a film maker allow her to be an all-round, versatile director. I also think that is why she has jumped right into commercial production with an incredibly busy & impressive year.’ Says Oskar Bård, director & founder of Hobby Film.
2016 has been a busy year for Hvistendahl with 5 commercial productions under her belt since the Spring.
"Getting the opportunity to be a part of Hobby Film is like a dream come true, as it’s rare to find a company with that much creative integrity and that many inspiring colleagues. It already feels like a natural home and I’m really proud to be part of the team." - Thea Hvistendahl
