WMcCann announces the promotion of Renata Bokel to chief operating officer (COO), assuming the new role as of April 1st, and becoming the agency's COO and CSO. Her cornerstones in the leadership of the operation will be operational efficiency and integration in search of results for clients.
“The strategy area already has the role of conductor of the operation, guardian of the briefing, the consumer desires and the clients' business objectives. I am very happy with this new opportunity because I have always believed in this multidisciplinary work and in the diversity of talents. My challenge now is to integrate all the teams in an efficient and agile way, directing the work so that they bring the best result to the clients,” highlights Renata Bokel.
“Renata has a plural background, with significant corporate experience as a lawyer, in addition to having worked in agencies and design and technology companies. This vast repertoire of more than 20 years of career made her more than ready to take charge of the new position."
Hugo Rodrigues, chairman of WMcCann and Craft Brasil, companies of the Interpublic Group (IPG), emphasizes: “I am a big fan of Renata's work and I am sure that she will help WMcCann in the quest to be a flexible company, with a versatile and integrated team, capable of delivering the best result for clients”.
Renata is a lawyer by training, mother of a boy, has an MBA in Marketing from UFRJ, and her last experience was at IBM iX as Head of Consumer Engagement for Latin America, which allowed her to have a more contemporary view of the world we live in.
Previously, she was VP of Strategy at BETC/Havas and Isobar, planning director in Africa and manager at Ana Couto Branding & Design, working for brands such as Itaú, Walmart, Vivo, Fiat, Jeep, Sky Brasil, TIM, Nivea, Banco do Brazil, Unilever, Whirlpool, PepsiCo, among others. In 2020 – a year in which it had never been more important to redesign brands so that they play an even more significant role in people's lives – Renata received the Caboré Award in the Planning Professional category. This year, Renata will be one of the columnists on the Women to Watch platform.
