So, who wants to collect money for the summer camp?
No-one. Absolutely no-one willingly volunteers for that job. But Nordic fintech Vipps MobilePay is on a mission to make the dreaded gig very, very easy.
In a new ad directed by the legendary TRAKTOR collective and created by acclaimed creative agency &Co./ NoA, you’re dazzled by Olympic level gymnastics illustrating the ease of life when letting Vipps MobilePay do the heavy lifting.
The ad vaults Vipps MobilePay out of the rational, feature-driven clutter of fintech and instead unfolds a spectacular show of effortless confidence.
“The brief was to make a film that’s a category breaker in fintech. So we said yes, great! We weren't really sure what they meant, so we made a film about ribbon gymnastics,” says the director collective Traktor.
“Creating an emotional response when communicating about a piece of financial technology, we wanted to manifest the feeling of easy. When something is so effortless that it rubs off on you. It’s feelgood advertising that puts a smile on your face. Just like the easiness of MobilePay,” adds the creative team behind the film, &Co.’s creative directors Rune Petersen and Kristian Eilertsen.
Breaking the Fintech Mold
On the untraditional take on how to communicate fintech, Head of Brand & Marketing in Vipps MobilePay, Lars Istre, elaborates:
“We came to &Co with an ambition to break out of the category and get away from the very rational, feature-heavy focus. We believe creativity is a superpower that can take us where we want to go. Brand building is a long-term investment and with this campaign we have taken some huge strides forward.”
Giants & Toys has produced the film, that is now live in Denmark and Finland. It will launch in Norway end of year.
