During the Hungarian lockdown people are only allowed to leave their homes with solid excuses, including work or office duty - therefore Umbrella’s staff has still been working and continues to operate. As the situation improved significantly over the past few weeks, the Hungarian government has eased the restrictions from May 3rd. Slowly, under strict state supervision, life will return to normal.
"We have done several shoots during the lockdown, with small crews in spacious studios or outside, as producing videos has not been banned previously. Our project managers and producers make sure that all health and safety regulations are kept, providing the necessary equipment on set such as sanitisers, masks and gloves that keep our crews effectively safe. Agencies and clients can take part in the shoots remotely thanks to our digital tools that we have perfected over the past years and that have stood the test in this most unexpected situation. As the number of Covid cases has started to decline recently, the government has started to ease most of the restrictions, making it possible to execute more complex projects - slowly, steadily and with caution." – says Zoltan Hidvegi, managing director of Umbrella Creative Collective.
Our ‘Shooting in Hungary’ onepager provides a comprehensive summary on how the regulations have changed recently, and how crews can continue to operate. Generally, our company still aims at solving as many tasks as possible remotely: castings are held online and the client still does not have to attend the shoots, as the remote workflow featuring multiple camera views and online feeds has proven to work very well, Crews are kept limited in number as much as possible, so that everyone can keep a safe distance.
