Neue Grafik / Orii Jam Sessions / Colour Factory
Concord has a long, rich history with Jazz, dating back to 1973 when the Concord Jazz label was originally founded.
Very few genres have had such a profound effect on modern music. It’s pretty safe to say that Hip Hop wouldn’t have been the same had it not been for producers such as Q-tip, J Dilla and Madlib who introduced jazz records to a new generation through the wonders of sampling.
Having just got back from We Out Here festival, I thought it would be the perfect time to showcase some of the new jazz (and jazz-inspired) writers we have on the Concord Publishing roster, ranging from legends such as Robert Glasper to emerging artists such as the Neue Grafik Ensemble.
