Radio LBB: A Sample of Seb Whyte’s Favourite Samples

My obsession with sampling began from hearing the old soul sounds of my parents record collection reinterpreted within hip-hop beats. Ever since then sampling has become responsible for a significant part of the development of my musical taste; my love for the art form has introduced me to a variety of rare grooves and global sounds from the worlds of jazz, funk and soul and has arguably broadened my knowledge more than any other factor.

At the beginning of a new year, where it is easy to overindulge in self-reflection, it seemed only fitting to pay homage to some of my favourite samples from across the years through a collection of obscure and recognisable foundations to some classic and contemporary beats.
