RadicalMedia has announced the recent signing of Max Hemmings in Europe.
Writer-director Max Hemmings cut his teeth editing in London after graduating the Australian Film & Television School Directing program. This experience inflected Max’s work with an intense focus on rhythm, evident it in the choreography of his fashion work for FILA and Bottega Veneta, or the subtle fluidity of his Nowness documentaries.
“It’s so important to feel like you’re ‘there’, and for that world to create layers of meaning and emotion. For me that sense can be as important as any plot point or camera work.” Whether drawing from real-life authenticity in his drama and documentary work, or completely inventing a unique world, Max’s films evoke a strong sense of place.
As well as his recently-completed short ‘The Kicked Dog’ (starring Alan Ford and Clive Russell) beginning its festival circuit life, he is currently developing projects around his personal focus on climate refugees. Based on his experience working with NGOs in Bangladesh, an experimental short is currently in post, with a feature project in development.
Max recently directed a new spot for Kärcher, produced by RadicalMedia Berlin.
