Award winning, woman owned independent agency Quirk Creative has launched the Quirk-Key internship programme for aspiring advertising and commercial production professionals.
As paid production assistants, Quirk-Key participants will gain exposure to real commercial productions and sets, be able to shadow and interact with their on-set and agency roles of choice (including but not limited to producers, directors of photography, gaffers, grips, sound engineers, commercial directors, copywriters, art directors, and account executives), and build their resume as they do it.
“As part of the .1 percent of woman-owned agencies, we deeply understand the need to facilitate access to opportunity,” said Meryl Draper, Co-Founder and CEO, Quirk Creative. “By offering a paid “foot in the door” to people interested in exploring or breaking into the advertising industry, we aim to change the dynamic.”
Quirk Creative worked with diversity and inclusion consultant / talent advocate Keni Thacker to bring the program to life. “I want to ensure BIPOC talent gets the same access, exposure, and opportunities as their counterparts. Oftentimes, they are overlooked from entry level all the way up to the C-suite where they represent less than 2 percent of industry leadership. Quirk is committed to changing the paradigm,” said Thacker.
The program launches and starts accepting applicants today. More information and applications can be found here.
