PUMA took over Sydney’s iconic Bondi Beach Pavilion and created a bespoke drill course

PUMA has launched a new campaign featuring the next generation of elite soccer, rugby and AFL stars via Ogilvy Melbourne.

Some of Australia’s best athletes, including players from the NRL, AFL, A-League, W-League and Super 15 Rugby, joined forces to scout out the next young superstars aged 10 -16 at the ‘PUMA Big Shot’ open tryouts in January.

PUMA took over Sydney’s iconic Bondi Beach Pavilion and created a bespoke drill course to reflect a real football ‘testing ground’ environment on par with professional standards.

Jake Friend of the Sydney Roosters, Jarrad McVeigh of the Sydney Swans, and Vedran Janjetovic of Sydney FC were some of the big names helping out on the day, offering their tips and support to the aspiring Big Shots.

Those who proved to be Big Shot material went on to secure an official PUMA sponsorship, which included a stack of PUMA gear for themselves and their teams, plus a starring spot in the PUMA campaign.

The creative for the campaign was inspired by interviews conducted with each of the Big Shots in order to capture their unique personalities and stories.

PUMA Oceania General Manager Paul Gautier said: “We are very excited to launch the PUMA Big Shot campaign this week and present our new PUMA brand ambassadors.

“There’s no doubt in my mind that our six winners are Australia’s next young football superstars and worthy recipients of a PUMA sponsorship. We’re thrilled to be involved in this way with their future sporting development.”

The PUMA Big Shots campaign launched on Friday May 13.
