In an industry-first venture, Advertising Creative Agency DDB Stockholm have co-founded and invested in an innovative new start-up that produces the world’s smallest wireless earphones, which can be charged during use with a smartphone.
The timing could not be better for the new venture, as it’s estimated that 2015 will be a breakthrough year for wireless headphone technology. With qualities yet to be seen elsewhere on the market, the earphones developed by Pugz use technology that no longer allows shape or size to restrict sound performance. What’s more; the earphones combat current wireless competitors in not only size, but in charging performance.
Current wireless headphones require long charges and large docking stations, but Pugz can be charged via smartphone, during use, using only 2-3% of the battery capacity in the process.
Sweden has been known for a number of successful breakthrough tech start-ups over the years, including Spotify and Skype and it seems the Swedish flair for sound technology has inspired more than a little interest in Pugz. After pre-launching on Kickstarter (a crowdfunding platform), Pugz was fully funded within 9 hours, racking up over 1700 investors and $50,000.
“We’re delighted to be a part of such an exciting new venture,” comments David Sandstöm CEO at DDB Stockholm “to see such rapid interest for the product is nothing but encouraging and we can’t wait to work hand in hand with Pugz to break the market with them this year.”
