Director Kiran Koshy of Raucous Content has unveiled his most recent thought-provoking campaign, this time against gun violence. Titled "Call Them What They Are," the campaign for Dads Against Gun Violence calls out the hypocrisy of conservative politicians who claim the moral high ground while accepting large donations from the Gun Lobby to block legislation.
The campaign created by Nigel & Co. kicks off with two 60-second videos, titled 'I’ve Done Dirty Things' and 'I Would Never Do That'. The videos take viewers on a journey through the jarringly vivid (and thankfully censored) experiences of porn star Lisey Sweet. Lisey flips through a Kama Sutra book in an interview-style setting, concluding with, "I do a lot of dirty things for money…but I would never do something so dirty as take money from the Gun Lobby.” The spots end with the hashtag #GunLobbyWhores, encouraging people to call these conservative politicians what they are.
“Conservatives who think of themselves as having the moral high ground on all things need to be reminded that they are enabling lawmakers who operate in the interests of the Gun Lobby, not the people,” shares Director Kiran Koshy. “Most Americans are overwhelmingly in favor of sensible gun laws, including an assault weapons ban. Conservative politicians need to be held responsible for their moral failing on this issue and reminded of what they've really become: gun lobby whores.”
The campaign is timed for the presidential primary debates and the 2024 political cycle.
