Seasoned leader recruited to further accelerate the agency’s Canadian growth

Interpublic Group’s (IPG) data-driven creative agency, Performance Art, has appointed Tishan Canagasby as EVP, general manager for its Toronto office. Tishan will oversee the agency’s Canadian operations, talent and culture, growth strategy, and its Canadian client roster including CIBC, BMW Canada, J&J, WWF-Canada, Simplii Financial, and Unilever. As part of his responsibilities, he will also oversee the agency’s North American tech team that serves clients in both the US and Canada. He will report to Elizabeth Sellors, global chief operating officer at Performance Art.

“We’ve grown rapidly since our launch in July of 2021 – more than doubling our business in fact. We see that trajectory further accelerating into 2024, and having the right leaders in place is critical to successfully scaling at such a rapid pace,” says Elizabeth. “When we met Tishan, we knew he could be an integral ingredient to the future of Performance Art. He’s passionate about work that lives at the intersection of data and creativity, and he has a proven track record of building strong teams, creating strong culture, and helping clients innovate and grow. Tishan joins Performance Art from john st., where he was EVP, account management. He has a proven, 20-year track record of success in integrated brand communications, working with iconic brands including Audi, General Motors, Shaw, TELUS, Tangerine, RBC, Boston Pizza, Maple Leaf Foods, and TJX. Prior to joining john st., he worked at Cossette, where he led integrated CRM, digital and brand teams on the award-winning SickKids and TD businesses.
