Performance Art, Interpublic Group’s (IPG) data-driven creative agency, announced today the appointment of Deepak Narisety as chief technology officer.

Bringing more than 20 years of experience to the role, Deepak will oversee the agency’s product and technology roadmap and will lead a team of 60 in supporting the company’s broader platform and data strategy across its full client roster.

Andrea Cook, CEO of Performance Art, remarked: “Deepak brings a deep understanding and experience in platforms, data, eCRM, commerce, systems architecture, and consulting – and critically, a real love for creativity and connected tech to this mission-critical role. He embodies the intersection of creativity and data that forms the backbone of our agency, and we are thrilled to bring him onboard.”

Deepak’s career began in database technology at Oracle and has taken him through the ecommerce boom to the transformation of AdTech and MarTech. Prior to arriving at Performance Art, Deepak served as the VP of Experience Technology at Merkle where he spearheaded the data, content and commerce platforms across Adobe, Salesforce and other programs which supported the creation and management of integrated, personalised digital experiences. His work in digital transformation is still changing how brands like Vans, Dick’s Sporting Goods, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Unilever and Dunkin’ stay relevant in an evolving online landscape. Deepak has held leadership positions at other leading companies, including Rauxa, Interbrand and Sapient. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Rutgers University with a concentration in computer engineering.

“When I first met Andrea and Ian [Ian Mackenzie is Performance Art’s chief creative officer], we did a rapid-fire Q&A. It was like speed dating, and there was an instant chemistry,” said Deepak. “Performance Art is experiencing phenomenal growth and has the right kind of culture and ambition for the next phase of my life and career. As CTO, it’s my job to foster creative thinking and deliver technology solutions that can help shape our clients’ futures and solve for their most critical problems. As an agency, we’re very well positioned to make a difference for the brands of tomorrow.”
