Optimus today announced the promotion of Brian Hrastar to executive producer/managing director. Hrastar, who previously was EP at Optimus, will help lead the production and post house as it shifts day-to-day operations to the key partner team from the owner group. As part of the restructuring, Optimus also announced that the Santa Monica office has closed and all post operations will be consolidated in its Chicago office.
"With our efforts and resources now focused on our Chicago office, it is the perfect time for our core management/partner team to take over day-to-day management responsibilities,” said Optimus President Tom Duff. “The appointment of Brian Hrastar as the new EP/Managing Director of our creative post group is a big part of that shift. Brian has been a leader here at Optimus for 20 years, and we are lucky and proud to have Brian at the helm.”
Hrastar started with Optimus in 1996 after graduating from Indiana University. He quickly worked his way through the ranks, from intern through operations positions. He was an assistant editor before assuming the producer role in 2002, and was promoted to EP in 2010. In May 2015, Brian was made a partner.
“The talent and motivation of our creative post group is second to none, and I am excited and honored to lead this team in our next growth phase as a creative company,” said Hrastar.
