OgilvyOne Introduces London's Lamp Lighters in Charming British Gas Film

Filament Post has once again teamed up with Fresh Film director Michael Arnold to create this charming film for British Gas. OgilvyOne chose Arnold to capture their film, which tells the story of London’s lamp lighters.

It’s a little known fact that British Gas still maintains 1480 gas lamps across the borough of Westminster. A dedicated group of Engineers, who are referred as the ‘Custodians of the lamps’, have been looking after the lamps since 1813.

We often take for granted the small details in life that contribute so much to our surroundings and this film highlights one such detail. We see the team taking care of each lamp, winding them every 14 days, ensuring that they turn on and off at precisely the right time according to the season. 

Such a simple, but heartwarming story only required cleaning up and grading in Flame. The end result will no doubt strike a chord with many and was a lovely project to work on for the Filament team.

The two minute and the 60 second films shall appear on the British Gas website and across their social media outlets.
