Ogilvy Brasil, in partnership with Hasbro, has created a nostalgic campaign that promises to captivate fans of one of Brazil's most beloved animated series, Dungeons & Dragons. The initiative aims to provide Brazilian fans with the long-awaited conclusion to the series, which was never officially produced. This project was designed to coincide with the 50th anniversary of Dungeons & Dragons, featuring a script by Jovem Nerd with support from Ogilvy. It introduces “The Lost Episode,” an animation in stop-motion format using official Hasbro figures, delivering an emotional narrative full of unexpected twists and modernized storytelling for a new generation of fans.
To bring the characters to life, the campaign enlists the original Brazilian voice actors and the expertise of "Os Bonequinhos," a studio specialized in animation known for creating natural and expressive movements with articulated figures. This ensures a visual experience that respects the original series’ spirit while enriching the narrative with a nostalgic and technically refined touch.
Jovem Nerd's creators, who grew up immersed in Dungeons & Dragons and playing the game since childhood, have always dreamed of a conclusion to the series. Now, they have the chance to make that dream a reality. They hope that nostalgic fans who have waited decades for a worthy ending will feel finally satisfied when they watch this special episode.
"Since the 1980s, fans of Dungeons & Dragons have been longing for a resolution to the story of the young adventurers lost in a magical and perilous realm. The appearance of the characters in the recent movie Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves sparked widespread discussion on Brazilian social media, reigniting the audience’s desire for a proper conclusion. Through their Nerdcast, Jovem Nerd expressed this wish directly to Hasbro, suggesting the creation of a final episode. The response came with the campaign ‘The Lost Adventure,’ a 15-minute episode that narrates the heroes' last journey against the villain Venger,” explained John Bogéa and Tarik Frank, creative directors at Ogilvy Brasil.
To promote the episode and create an integrated digital experience, the film will premiere this week on Hasbro and Jovem Nerd’s social media channels.
“Bringing Dungeons & Dragons to life through this creative exercise goes beyond a marketing action. It is a celebration with the Brazilian fan community that grew up following the fantastic adventures of this group,” highlighted Marina Uccelli, Hasbro’s marketing director.
To mark the launch, the episode was showcased at CCXP on December 5th in São Paulo, with the original Brazilian voice cast in attendance, further strengthening the emotional connection between Hasbro and its Brazilian audience.
