It’s been a busy few months for Odelay Films after their launch into the US market, and being certified as a B Corp business. Alongside this, they are delighted to announce a development of roles within their senior team.
After returning from maternity leave, Prudence Beecroft returns as MD, while stand-in MD, Aly Moffat, takes on the new role of head of advertising. Both shall work closely with Odelay’s founders Peter Lee Scott and Ed Arthur.
Within the new structure the duo will oversee the growth of Odelay within the UK and US markets. With a combined experience that spans the past 30 years of film and commercial production they bring diverse skills and experience to both their roles, and will collaborate to build upon Odelay’s existing heritage.
Aly has long been known as a passionate supporter of nurturing new talent. In her previous role of Managing Director of 2AM, she consistently pushed for more diversity behind the camera and the need to mentor young people looking for pathways into the industry. This passion is equally represented in Prudence’s approach to production. Having spearheaded various initiatives to inspire young people from less privileged backgrounds to enter the production arena.
Both women share a combined commitment to promote sustainability, social and environmental responsibility, accountability, and transparency at every level, whether that’s on set, with Odelay’s production partners, clients and employees.
Commenting on the new structure MD, Prudence shared, “Aly and I met shortly after the closure of the much loved 2AM and we immediately hit it off. I was pregnant at the time and was going through the tricky task of finding someone to take the reins while I would be on maternity leave. It was very refreshing to meet a fellow female MD and I felt she would be the perfect fit to be at the helm while I was OOO. Not only did Aly have the industry knowhow, but also had a very ‘Odelay’ approach to running a purpose-led business. Since then it's just been such a seamless integration. I really value Aly’s experience and calm, balanced attitude. People are what make any organisation tick, and when you find someone that fits well within the team, like Aly, it’s a no-brainer to restructure to accommodate them.”
“Odelay’s new structure will mean that Aly can focus on what she does brilliantly- maintaining her existing relationships and developing talent. While I can keep the wheels moving forward on the expansion of the business; the scope and scale of the jobs we can deliver to new clients and collaborators’. I am very excited to work so closely with Aly and the team to make this happen.”
Ally Moffat, head of advertising added, “I’m so excited to finally be working alongside Prue, when I first met her for an informal chat almost a year ago I was instantly attracted by her energy and passion for the business and could see that Odelay was a company with big ambitions.
Prue is incredibly business savvy, and not afraid to think outside the box, she’s also very creative with a great eye for new talent. I have been in the industry for over 30 years and have worked with some of the biggest names in the business, bringing with me a wealth of experience. This feels like a powerful combination.
I’m extremely proud to be running a company alongside another woman, especially as I’m now in my 50’s and advertising is perceived as a young person’s game. Representation is power and I hope that younger women starting out in the industry can see that it is possible to have a family alongside a successful and long lasting career.”
After their launch in the US, the very recent B Corp accreditation and the ongoing signing of new talent, Odelay’s dynamic and experienced senior team places them in the perfect position to tackle the challenges and opportunities that the future holds.
