Nylon Studios Taps Behind The Scenes

For Tourism Tasmania campaign

Award-winning music and sound house Nylon Studios has recently completed the soundtrack for Tourism Tasmania’s latest campaign ‘Tasmania – Go Behind the Scenery’ via boutique agency Jim Jams Ideas.

The upbeat 60-second spot shows viewers there is more to Tasmania than its famous natural landscapes by showing off the island state’s food and wine culture as well as its more quirky offbeat attractions.

Nylon Studios was enlisted to create a rhythmic track that would accentuate the campaign’s carnival theme of theatre props and personalities, eccentric behind the scene treasures and crystal ball readers, which coincide with the spot’s fast pace, close cut filming and edit.

“The pictures had tremendous energy – the rhythm of the edit and the onslaught of colours really demanded a toe-tapping feel good track,” said Nylon composer Michael Yezerski. “I loved that the images took you on a journey through time and space and I wanted to recreate this feeling in the music.”

With sound design by Anthony Aston and vocals by Alex Oomens, the track reinforces the message for viewers to visit Tasmania to unlock its secrets. “I took that theme literally into the lyrics,” added Yezerski. “Of course the lyrics have a double meaning yet Alex’s sultry performance of the song reinforces this aspect of travel and discovery.”

Nylon executive producer Karla Henwood said the team was thrilled to be a part of the tourism campaign: “These phenomenal shots from director Josh Frizzell proved ample inspiration for a track that we are all so proud of,” she said.

This recent news comes off the back of Nylon Studio’s recent Silver AWARD win for Original Music on spot ‘Axeanarchy Island’ for client Unilever Axe/Lynx via BBH London. The soundtrack compliments the comical campaign that sees a bunch of miss-matched, over the top characters making their way via speedboats to a Lynx owned island party.
