Director Elliot Lim animates wonderfully simple short 'The Boy Who Asked Questions'

American brokerage and banking company, Charles Schwab Corporation, decided to go back to the roots of human connections and build a relationship through storytelling – something everyone can identify with. Together with Not to Scale and director Elliot Lim, Charles Schwab created an animated fable based on a visual metaphor of asking questions in daily life.

To find the sweet spot between classic storybook drawings and something more modern, Elliot created an illustrative animation that’s elegant, emotive, and deceptively simple. Elliot comments: “I wanted to make sure the animation served the story, not distract from it. The execution needed to match the illustration style – no frills but smooth and precise.”
