The Dark Knight Rises premiered in Leicester Square on 18th July and already the final installment of the Batman trilogy has sold-out at IMAX cinemas around London. Predicted to become the highest grossing movie of all time, we are truly witnessing a marketing phenomenon.
Batman isn’t the only Dark Knight Rising. Working tightly under wraps with Arnold KLP to create a 20” global spot, SALT.TV were given Hans Zimmer’s original score and footage from the movie to craft a takeover spot from the Nokia Lumia 900 Advert.
With Christopher Nolan signing off on all marketing collaborations connected with the film, The Arnold KLP team had the added pressure of needing to nail the creative first time. Director, Tu casa, of SALT.TV worked closely with Arnold KLP and the team at Rushes to develop 3D rubble that would seamlessly transition from Nokia to the Dark Knight footage and back again.
The end result: an outstanding collaboration between a movie franchise and a brand that demonstrates the value of choosing the perfect partner for successful tie-ins.
Currently showing on ESPN, SALT.TV also worked with Dallas based agency Tracy Locke to realise a 30” cinema/TV version coinciding with the film’s release stateside.
