No.8 Hires Matt Turner as Creative Director of Colour

Creative Studio No.8 has appointed Matt Turner as its new creative director of colour.

Matt will join No.8 this week and head up the colour grading department. In his new role, he will work across all agencies and production companies. One of the most prolific and experienced colourists in the industry, Turner brings over 25 years’ experience in colour grading and post-production to No.8.

He will join No.8 from Absolute Post where he has been the head of colour for the past 12 years.

Matt started his career at The Mill and has held senior colourist positions at Framestore and Company 3, before becoming head of colour at Rushes in 2010.

Matt has worked on campaigns for clients including Guinness, BMW, Sony Playstation, YSL, Bulgari, and Samsung, and with directors such as Baz Luhrmann, Frank Budgen, Dougal Wilson, Otto Bathurst, and Daniel Kleinman.

Over the years, Matt’s work has featured heavily across various awards shows including British Arrows, D&AD, AICP, Cannes Lions and Creative Circle. He has featured in Televisual’s Top 10 Best Colourists list every year for more than a decade.

At No.8 he will focus on colour grading work worldwide for commercials, episodic TV, feature films, and music videos.
