As British EV adventurers Chris and Julie Ramsey prepare to embark on a remarkable and unprecedented journey from North to South Pole driving the all-electric Nissan ARYIA, Dark Horses has created a social campaign to launch the amazingly daring quest.
The Ramsey’s will be travelling over 27,000km, across 14 countries and three continents with predicted temperatures ranging from -30⁰C to 30⁰C. The creative film by Dark Horses marks the reveal of the vehicle before it embarks on its epic journey.
Throughout the 10 month journey Dark Horses will be creating exciting activations and content to demonstrate Nissan’s involvement with Pole to Pole, at various landmark locations along the expedition route.
The film features the specially modified Nissan ARIYA in seemingly real locations, from snow covered mountains and sandy beaches to blue skies and lush greenery. The film cuts to a green screen backdrop in the middle of a snow covered landscape as the modified ARIYA drives off, beginning its true journey. The work anticipates Ramsey's never done before journey, which will be kicking off in March this year, driving through some of the world’s most extreme, brutal and beautiful landscapes.
The new campaign Nissan aligns with the brand’s long term mission to empower mobility with electrification at the centre.
Steve Howell, executive creative director at Dark Horses, said, “Pole to Pole is an incredible feat of human endeavour. No-one’s ever attempted to drive from the North to South pole, let alone in an electric vehicle, so it’ll be putting the Ariya to the ultimate test. We wanted to capture the thrill and anticipation in this piece of work and cannot wait to follow the journey over the coming months.”
