new-land has signed Angelina Bergenwall to its 'new talent' roster, representing the Stockholm-based director and photographer for commercial work and music videos in the UK, the Netherlands and Scandinavia.

Angelina, who is represented by new--land sister company Bad Land for her stills work, commented: “All of new—land’s directors have a great sense of storytelling, imbuing scripts with powerful momentum and feeling across all kinds of projects. I’m excited to embrace that philosophy in my own work, extending storytelling into more stills photography-inspired settings.

“It’s such a thrill thinking about what motion pictures and traditional photography can learn from each other. In traditional photography, you put all this tenderness towards just one frame - when you translate that feeling into film, the possibilities are infinite.”

Influenced at an early age by scenic Swedish cinematography, Angelina’s style blends a contemporary vision with soft, delicate nuances, combining her Moroccan and Scandinavian roots to transcend cultural barriers. Her body of stills work includes an extensive list of clients such as Dior, Byredo and H&M, and she has already worked with new-land on jobs for clients such the Swedish banking giant SEB and the musician Alba August. Her striking work has won her a number of awards across her career, including ELLE Sweden’s photographer of the year award in 2020.

Axel Engström, executive producer at Bad Land Stockholm, commented: “Angelina has been with Bad Land almost since the agency was founded, and we’re delighted to see her take this exciting new step in her career. Her delicate use of lighting, talent for careful casting and eye for detail are all remarkable, and I can’t wait to see that carried into film.”
