New Cesar Campaign Makes the Weekend Special for Dogs and Their Owners

Cesar dog food has always been committed to providing dogs and dog owners with shared moments of joy. Now, to kick off their new campaign centred around making weekends special for our furry best friends, they held a unique one-time event. Treating pooches and their parents to that most treasured of weekend meals, Sunday brunch.

Using the highly popular Toronto restaurant, Boehmer, as the venue, close to 40 dogs and owners took part in the delicious repast. The menu showcased an assortment of Cesar wet food items for the pups and a selection of mouth-watering (human food) dishes for their humans. After the meal was finished, dogs were offered after-brunch treats and other amenities reserved for such a special event. As the video shows, there was no shortage of selfies, smiling faces, and wagging tails.

Cesar Brand Manager, Dena Mehraban, described the thinking behind this campaign. “We humans tend to treat ourselves to something special on the weekends. But what about our 4-legged friends? With this campaign, our goal is to inspire dog owners to also make their dogs’ weekends special with high quality and delicious Cesar products.”

Bringing this message to life was a fun and unique challenge. “The shorthand of brunch was the perfect way to connect the weekend, spending time together, and food”, said Derek Blais, Associate Creative Director at BBDO Toronto, the agency behind the work. “The dogs and their owners had a blast and reception of the video has been overwhelmingly positive. We’d love to bring brunch to other cities one day!”
