New hires and notable lead agency appointments at Motion Sickness

After competitive pitches, Motion Sickness has added Sorted (Te Ara Ahunga Ora Retirement Commission) to its client roster, as well as securing a spot on the Auckland Council Group’s creative agency panel. The Auckland Council Group includes Auckland Transport, Auckland Council and Tātaki Auckland Unlimited.

“At Sorted we’re on a mission to help people make the most of their money today, so they can enjoy a better retirement tomorrow,” said Vanessa Morris, director of marketing.

“We wanted a new agency partner that could help us on that mission and create work that will drive behaviour change. We were impressed with the thinking and experience Motion Sickness brought to the table. We are confident they are the right partner to take us forward, and will bring a fresh approach to the Sorted brand. The award-winning work they had done with Netsafe and Fire and Emergency NZ demonstrated their disruptive approach to connecting with our youth and Māori audiences and we look forward to working with the team.”

Motion Sickness has made a number of new hires - recruiting Chelsea Knowles to bolster its strategy team.

“I knew there was something different going on at Motion Sickness, so I was stoked when I got the opportunity to go behind the scenes. So far I’ve found a whole lot of great people, exceptional brands, and a real ambition to make meaningful change.” said Chelsea Knowles, junior strategist.

While Joe Fraei joins the client services department as senior account manager. The agency has also brought Schumacher Leona (Hakupu/Tuapa), on board as a junior creative, “I visited Motion Sickness last year for uni and I thought their work was sweet. Being a part of them now, with the briefs I’m working on, I’d say it’s lived up to the hype and I’m excited to do big things here.”

“We have big ambitions for the year ahead, and they all centre around working with more brands that want to think differently,” said Alex McManus, GM. “We have a great group of clients that are continuously asking us to push the boundaries - and with some talented humans joining the team, our door is always open for the next challenge.”
