Mod Op, a marketing communications agency with offices across the U.S., Latin America and Canada, has announced the acquisition of CreativeDepartmint, a leading web3 marketing agency known for helping traditional media, Fortune 500 and e-commerce companies succeed in web3. CreativeDepartmint’s suite of services have included brand positioning, visual design, content creation, public relations, community building, growth strategies, event planning, and much more. Agency founder, Jonathan Verk, will join the Mod Op team as executive vice president, web3.
“It’s clear that web3, blockchain and AI present some intriguing possibilities for marketers, both to draw new audiences and deepen relationships with the customers they have. This acquisition positions ModOp to help our clients take advantage of the profound opportunities these emerging technologies offer,” said Eric J. Bertrand, CEO, Mod Op. “After spending most of his career helping CMOs navigate the intersection of media, marketing and emerging technology, Jonathan is uniquely positioned to help Mod Op serve our portfolio of forward-thinking clients, as well as make our world-class marketing solutions and services available to web3 natives.”
The acquisition will enhance Mod Op’s capabilities in web3, including non-fungible tokens (NFTs), metaverse, and blockchain-based loyalty & fan engagement programmes.
In addition to producing the NFT-LA conference in 2022, CreativeDepartmint helped drive close to $10m in new revenue supporting a diverse roster of clients that includes CBS, FOX/Blockchain Creative Labs, Metamask, Daz3D, Nifty’s and Proof. Most recently, CreativeDepartmint collaborated with rights management agency SpaceBlue to include an NFT collection in the Lunaprise Capsule which will be transported to the surface of the moon by SpaceX’s Falcon-9 rocket in June 2023.
With this impressive roster, Jonathan brings a unique perspective that helps marketers strategically embrace innovation, drive new revenue, increase customer acquisition, and engage loyal communities with authenticity.
“Our team is incredibly grateful for the clients, collaborators and colleagues who have played such a crucial role in our explosive growth over the past 18 months,” said Jonathan Verk. "We’re thrilled to be taking this next step with Mod Op and look forward to helping new and existing clients push boundaries, explore new frontiers and succeed in web3."
