Unlimited Group has announced the appointment of Michael Richards as its Group Managing Director.
Following the recent announcement of the Group’s restructure and rebrand around its seven core disciplines, making the business more effective, accountable and appealing to clients, Michael has been appointed to focus and join up efforts to capitalise on the opportunities afforded by this new positioning.
Michael, a proven entrepreneur and client advocate, who has enjoyed a successful career in Top 10 Agencies, built and sold his own Top 30 Agency and launched his own Global water brand, arrives from VCCP where he’s been International MD as well as running the eBay and Paddy Power accounts.
Michael joins the Group at an exciting and opportune time. Almost 18 months since taking itself private and following the co-location of its UK Health business, and recent repositioning to create a more client-focused and agile structure, the Group is in a strong position to build on this significant organisational progress with demonstrable growth and scale. Michael will be charged with delivering this growth through maximising the potential of the Group.
Tim Bonnet, President of Unlimited Group commented: “I am really excited about Michael’s appointment. With our simplified and honed client offer we are ready for a sustained period of accelerated client growth, which Michael has an enviable track record in delivering. Boasting an impressive average tenure of more than 10 years for our Top 20 clients, there isn’t a better home for clients’ marketing needs than Unlimited.”
Michael Richards, Group MD commented: “Unlimited Group is a gem, with some great agency brands. I’m very excited to be working with such an impressive team, being wingman to the existing management and looking forward to lots of collective success and fun delivering great outcomes for our clients as we bring our new proposition ‘The impact of Art and Science’ to life.”
Michael, who joins Unlimited Group today, will head the Group’s Partners’ Board and report into Group Chairman, Iain Ferguson who added: “This is a key appointment following our move to the private sector. Michael’s leadership, energy and client focus will add another dimension to an already strong Partners’ board and we look forward to further additions of talent and know-how to the Group.”
