‘Khepri’ is a spellbinding short film directed and crafted by Carlos Cortes, in-house director at Glassworks Barcelona. Inspired by Egyptian mythology, the film explores dualism and renewal through the symbolism of Khepri, the self-created sun-God beetle that embodies eternal life and constant transformation.
Drawn initially by a fascination with natural themes and the transformative nature of light, director Carlos Cortes’ visual journey led him to investigate the multifaceted essence of the most common things. Once the lights go off, the gentle and the ordinary shift shape, and a new glimpse comes into vision.
The full CG production was mostly developed using C4D and rendered with Arnold and Redshift, and Houdini was used for some of the simulation shots.
