McCann Worldgroup today announced the promotion of Simon Sikorski to the newly-created position of global chief operating officer at Craft. Simon will move to New York from Toronto, where he is currently CEO of McCann Worldgroup Canada.
In addition, Sergio Lopez was promoted to the newly created role of chief production officer, UK and EMEA, as well as CEO of its production arm CRAFT UK and EMEA. In this capacity, Sergio will oversee McCann Wordgroup’s integrated production capabilities across its agencies throughout the region.
Chris Macdonald, chairman and CEO of McCann, said: “The success and growth of Craft will be driven by investing in our talent and focusing on innovating and optimising our services to serve as a true source of business and brand solutions for our clients. Simon’s return to Craft in the critical role of global COO and Sergio’s promotion signal our intent to deliver not only creative production solutions, but also efficiency and effectiveness of both asset production and spend. In this way we will truly serve as an essential partner to our clients. The award-winning work produced by our regional teams under Sergio's leadership is fantastic and I look forward to seeing him bring this same success to bear at a global level.”
Simon moved to his native Canada two years ago as part of organisational changes made as McCann elevated the country to global strategic market status. He helped to strengthen the individual competitive positions of each McCann Worldgroup agency brand through clearer alignment with their own global agency leadership. The Canadian agencies have all strengthened their brand identities and their national presence under Simon’s leadership and are well-positioned for long-term success.
Simon previously served as chief client officer at Craft before his move to Toronto. In all, between the London, New York and Canadian offices, he has more than 15 years of leadership experience at McCann Worldgroup.
A key driver in the creative success, organic expansion of production and content creation capabilities across the network, Sergio has spearheaded six years of continued growth and the unification of production operations and studios. As chief production officer, he will ensure that its international roster of clients are provided with world-class executions, delivered creatively, efficiently and at scale.
