McCann Worldgroup today announced that it had won 55 awards at the 2016 Eurobest Awards held in Rome, Italy, the largest awards show that recognizes European advertising.
The network doubled its award wins in 2016 versus the previous year - with McCann Worldgroup UK’s agencies: McCann London, Momentum, MRM/Meteorite and Craft - one of the 10 European teams that took home prizes, winning 22 awards including a Grand Prix for work for Xbox ‘Survival BillBoard’ and McCann Paris winning five awards for its “Girls of Paradise” campaign for a charity against prostitution. In addition sister agency Weber Shandwick scooped three awards for ActionAid “Brutal Cut”.
Overall, the McCann Worldgroup network ranked second among global networks in awards won. In addition to the McCann Worldgroup UK and McCann Paris wins the other offices taking top awards included Bucharest, Madrid, Prague, Brussels, Stockholm, Barcelona, Milan and Budapest.
“More important than the quantity of awards is the sheer number of offices winning these. This is the result of our focus on building a culture of creative makers across our network and imposing a leaner, more entrepreneurial and collaborative modus operandi. We are embedding a spirit of creativity and passion across the entire region –thinking beyond boundaries.” said Adrian Botan, Global Executive Creative Director, McCann Worldgroup, Europe.
One of the most awarded campaigns of the year for Xbox/Tomb Raider ‘Survival Billboard’ also won 18 Cannes earlier and numerous other awards at the Clios, One Show, New York Festivals, D&AD, The ANDY awards and The Webbys. The campaign’s success was thanks to an integrated effort across four of McCann Worldgroup UK’s agencies.
