Aldi’s ‘Kevin vs John’ with McCann Manchester scoops Grand Effie

McCann Worldgroup was awarded the Agency Network of the Year title at last night’s 2023 Effie Awards Europe, winning four gold and three silver trophies for their outstanding work for IKEA, Aldi UK & Ireland, Vodafone and Getlini EKO from agencies across Spain, Manchester, Romania and Riga (Latvia). In addition, Aldi’s ‘Kevin vs John’ from McCann Manchester won the Grand Effie.

Over 140 industry professionals from more than 20 European countries contributed their time and insight to identify the most effective work of the year. The jury, co-chaired by Ayesha Walawalkar, chief strategy officer, MullenLowe Group UK, and Catherine Spindler, deputy CEO of LACOSTE, awarded 50 trophies to almost 40 agencies from 16 countries across Europe.

- Best of Europe: Sustained Success: ‘Kevin vs John’ Aldi - McCann Manchester

- Positive Change: Environmental Brands. ‘No Trash – No problem’ Getlini EKO - White Label/McCann Riga

- Positive Change: Environmental Brands. ‘Vodafone Discoverage’ Vodafone Romania - McCann Worldgroup Romania

In addition, ‘Opt-Ink’ for Junge Helden from McCann Germany office in collaboration with McCann Paris won a Care Award from ACT- Advertising Community Together, recognising work that made a positive societal impact.
