McCann Health Appoints Jonathan Blakey

McCann Health, a division of McCann WorldGroup and the leading healthcare agency in Asia Pacific today announced the appointment of Jonathan (Jack) Blakey, managing director and head of strategy from Sudler & Hennessey in Australia. 

 

Blakey joins McCann Heath Communications Japan in the newly created role of managing director. Reporting to Amar Urhekar, representative director and president of McCann Health Communications Japan, and EVP McCann Health Asia Pacific, Blakey will take over the day-to-day responsibilities of McCann Health Japan early August 2013.

Jack is expected to work closely with the local management team and further build on the success and momentum McCann Health Communications Japan has achieved over the last few years into an agency of undisputed leadership in terms of the size, reputation and client satisfaction /relationships. 

 

Prior to Jack’s role with Sudler & Hennessey, a WPP agency, Jack ran his own business, Marrow Communications, which he launched in 2005 at which time the company was the first independent Health Communications specialist agency of its kind in Australia.

 

McCann Health Communications Japan has grown at 15% vs. the Pharma industry in Japan whose growth stands at 2% year-on-year.  McCann Health Japan has also been awarded the Specialist Agency of the Year for 4 years in row since 2008 and continues to lead the industry growth in terms of product, services and offer.

 

Since January 2013, the agency has also been awarded 24 new business assignments from 12 different clients.
