M&C Saatchi Sport & Entertainment today announces that it will open a new office in Amsterdam from January 2020.
The opening comes following increased client demand for representation in one of the world’s most creative cities and marks the M&C Saatchi Group’s first footprint in the Dutch capital – with a focus on clients located in Amsterdam, the Netherlands and the Benelux region.
Existing retained business with Heineken will form the agency’s establishing client in the city.
Steve Martin, global CEO, M&C Saatchi Sport & Entertainment commented: “We are always looking for opportunities to grow our footprint in the right locations, at the right time, for the right reasons. We have strong existing client relationships with brands like Heineken and we believe a great opportunity to creatively connect brands to their audiences through the things they love in a brutally simple way.”
The office will be co-headed by long-term M&C Saatchi Sport & Entertainment business director, Toan Ravenscroft, and Jasper Hunter, former head of innovation and a strategy director at M&C Saatchi London.
Jasper Hunter commented: “When you’re dealing with the things people love, the pressure to do great work is incredibly high. So we want to create a safe place to do dangerous things to ensure we really push the boundaries.”
Toan Ravenscroft added: “Amsterdam already sets the bar creatively, but we feel there is a real opportunity to bring our specialism and approach to brands based here and to create big ideas that influence culture.”
The expansion will be the seventh global office for the multi-award-winning agency, established in 2004. The agency holds long-term relationships globally with some of the world’s biggest brands such as Coca-Cola, Heineken, Reebok and Pernod Ricard and is part of the M&C Saatchi Group.
