Advertising agency Havas produces new spot for Chicago's Mayor, encouraging residents to complete their forms during lockdown
Chicago’s Mayor Lori Lightfoot is educating the City of Chicago once again; this time with another clever PSA developed in partnership with Havas Chicago. The goal, to inspire Chicagoans to stay home and complete their census forms.
Of Lightfoot's five tips, she recommends checking the mail to get some fresh air, "travelling" around the internet by learning a foreign language, starting a difficult puzzle, video chatting friends and supporting local restaurants. Naturally, she ordered a Chicago-style pizza.
It’s the second lighthearted PSA Havas Chicago has developed with Lightfoot since the stay-at-home order was implemented. This work is a true testament on how agencies are adapting to production and shooting during Covid-19: practicing social distancing, pivoting creative ideas and execution while onsite, narrowed casting, and simplified execution wherever possible, without quality of work suffering of course. Definitely not an easy task, especially during this time of uncertainty. However, at Havas Chicago, there’s been an incredible surge of energy and creativity—partly because the team is empowered to challenge almost every paradigm and every norm its ever had under this new, new normal.
Marianna Ruiz, group creative director, said: “Mayor Lightfoot is quickly becoming our local hero, and being able to work with her on this important message was a really great opportunity. She is extremely professional, and also has a great sense of humour. Although we had a short amount of time with her – you can imagine how busy she is these days – she was very engaged from the start, was able to take direction easily and deliver a strong performance with very few takes. All in all, a great experience I’d be happy to do again anytime.”
