Activation and engagement marketing agency Match Marketing Group has hired Liesl Holtz as its new Account Director for adidas.
Holtz has more than 15 years of business experience and an impressive background in sports marketing, client relationships and team leadership. Most recently, she was VP of Corporate Strategy & Partnerships for Human Movement, a division of POWDR Corporation. In this role, Holtz drove brand sponsorship and events within POWDR resorts and worked with brands such as Under Armour, Gatorade and Go-Pro.
Prior to that, she spent more than 10 years as Oakley’s Global Sports Marketing Manager, and was responsible for launching key product and branding opportunities and strategically aligning them to influencer athletes and events. For instance, Holtz pioneered and executive produced the Oakley-branded project “Uniquely,” the first-ever cross-sport movie and web series.
“I love the way Liesl thinks,” said Howard Rubin, Managing Partner at Match Marketing Group. “’Uniquely’ is the perfect brand-integration piece—it positioned Oakley on a global journey with these great surfers, skateboarders, snowboarders and other female athletes as they search for perfect conditions and bond as friends. There was no hard sell, just a natural fit for the brand, and that’s what MMG aims to do with all the lifestyle brands we work with.”
